Author Gestures
Live music: Saulo Lucci
Physically performed by: Matteo Cionini
Songs from the great tradition of Italian singer-songwriting are interpreted by Saulo Lucci (guitar and vocals) and performed on stage by Matteo Cionini through an artistic reworking of the themes and images that the songs elicit.
GESTI D’AUTORE is an original format that is developed around an artistic vision: giving body to the words and notes, accompanying the lyrics with body images, actions that do not literally translate the song but complement it, in an original artistic elaboration.
The format includes the possibility to range over different authors and songwriters, creating different evenings that can focus on a specific theme or author, or embrace the general idea of Italian songwriting.

In 2014, thanks to the boundless passion he discovered he had for the Divine Comedy, he launched a project titled “Hell o’ Dante”: 34 different performances, each dedicated to a canto of “Inferno.”
A project created in 2024 by Matteo Cionini, with the support of the Italian Artists’ Cooperative. It is a format that is open to many possible versions, generic or related to specific themes or authors.
The origins of this idea come from an event that was held in 2019 at the Blue Theater in Buriasco by the Pinerolo Songwriters Collective led by Nicola Lollino.
