MiMORANDUM
The History of MiMO
from Prehistory to Tik Tok
The course is structured over three meetings that can take place in different ways:
- It is an integral part of the MiMO Professional Course at thePhysical Theatre Atelier
- By means of in-person lectures at universities or associative and cultural realities on the Italian territory
- In streaming, in collaboration with cultural, educational entities or dedicated channels
- On demand, on this site (contact me to find out how to do it!)
Ep. 1: THE ORIGINS
From primitive men to Etienne Decroux via Greek and Roman theater, nineteenth-century pantomime, and early twentieth-century avant-garde art.
A history of mime that is also a history of humanity itself.
Ep. 2: MODERN MiMO
From Marcel Marceau to the present day. Artists who in the second half and dawn of the new millennium explored new ways of doing gestural theater and inspired many others: in addition to the great Marceau we will meet Michel Courtemanche, Carlos Martinez, Nola Rae…
Ep. 3: CONTEMPORARY MiMO.
The most interesting artists of today’s world scene, many of whom have given a personal and exclusive video contribution for Mimorandum. A way to get to know them up close and discover how alive and varied the art of Mime is!
